sold to collector in CA
Here is your chance to own a piece of Arizona folk art history. Dated 2024 by underground artist, Clarence Snuff (b. 1996), this figurine set depicts a large scorpion reaching over a dirt bike to claim a Del Taco coupon.
Medium: polymer clay, gesso, acrylic paint and lacquer.
Clarence Snuff is an artist assumed to be working and living in Quartzite, AZ. Through many years of friendship, Snuff trusts the folks at Rural Guitar to sell his work.
From the artist: Scorch-o Scorpion is a fiend for tacos, a deity, a friend of my imagination. He clips coupons from Del Taco and redeems them once a month when it is feeding time. He does not use the drive thru… he waits in line. It is rumored that his wife, not a scorpion, works there but is on maternity leave.
